In 1995, easyJet was founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou to offer low-fare flights everyone could afford. With our HQ open in Luton, we got our first ever telephone booking (talk about waiting for an important call), and not long later our first flight went from London Luton to Glasgow.
We’ve continued to climb, expanding into Europe, opening more bases, winning awards for low-cost travel, and most recently, starting easyJet holidays to transform the travel holiday industry, too. We’ve worked hard to get to where we are, but the destination makes it all worthwhile.

We know that carbon emissions from air travel contribute to climate change and we’ve committed to reach net zero by 2050. We’re already focused on being as efficient as we can, flying our aircraft in ways that avoid noise and unnecessary use of fuel, and adding more fuel-efficient Airbus NEO aircraft to our fleet.
